Pipili: A gang of five dacoits hurled a bomb at police when the latter had gone to arrest them in Delang of Puri district.
Following a tip-off that the gang was plotting to commit robbery, the Delang police went to the spot for conducting a raid.
As the police team approached the place, the dacoits tried to escape by hurling a bomb at them. However, nobody was injured in the incident. Later, the police managed to arrest the dacoits.
The police also seized a hammer, a torch, 3 bikes and 2 live bombs from their possession.
The accused were forwarded to the court after their bail plea was rejected.
