Nayagarh: A gang of five dacoits struck at Mandalapada village under Gania police limits in Nayagarh late on Sunday and decamped with valuables worth several lakhs of rupees.
According to reports, the men stormed into two houses in the villages, threatened the residents with lethal weapons and looted gold ornaments and cash worth lakhs of rupees.
Some locals came out of their houses hearing the commotion, following which the criminals fled the spot with the stolen items.
On being informed regarding the loot, police rushed to the spot and began investigation.
