Bhubaneswar: The capital city saw a marginal drop in daily COVID-19 cases with 281 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
This is a significant dip from the 323 cases reported on Sunday and 374 on Saturday.
Of the new cases, 66 are from quarantine and 215 local contacts, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation stated in its tweet.
Patia reported the highest of 22 cases, followed by Khandagiri (15), IRC Village (13), Dumduma (11), and UNIT-9 (10).
The last 24 hours also saw five COVID deaths and 374 patients getting cured of the infection.
Among the fatalities were four men and one woman in the age group of 46 to 65 years. Three had no co-morbidities.
With this, the city now has 1,317 active cases.
The aggregate caseload of the city has reached 89,466, while 440 people have died and 87,688 have recovered from the virus.
