Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 cases fell below 1,000 in the capital city after a gap of one day, with 919 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
Bhubaneswar had seen 905 fresh COVID cases on May 24, while on Tuesday the number of new infections was 1,062.
Of the new cases, 153 are from quarantine and 766 through local contacts.
Maximum cases were reported from Nayapalli (49), followed by Patia, Khandagiri and Shyampur (44 each), Jharpada (39), Chandrasekharpur (30), Laxmisagar and Old Town (27 each), Niladri Vihar (26), Dumduma (23), Badagada (20), Sundarapada (19), Jaydev Vihar (18), Sailashree Vihar (17), Unit-6 and Unit-4 (15 each).
Meanwhile, 1,019 patients recovered in last 24 hours. The total cases so far in the city stand at 71,883.
Bhubaneswar has seen 58,846 people recover from coronavirus. It currently has 12,691 active cases.
