Bhubaneswar: The capital city registered a marginal increase in daily COVID-19 cases as 272 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours against 261 new patients on Wednesday and 206 the previous day.
Of the new cases, 55 were from quarantine and 217 were local contacts, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated in a tweet.
Among the local contacts, maximum 14 cases were detected in Patia followed by 13 each in Khandagiri and Unit VIII and 12 in Nayapalli.
While 227 patients recovered during the period, the number of the deceased has gone up to 965 with 7 more patients succumbing to the disease.
The city now has 2,892 active cases and total positive cases have gone up to 10,3,023 the BMC stated.
