Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital registered below 1,000 new COVID-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday.
In the last 24 hours, 871 people tested positive for the deadly virus in Bhubaneswar.
Testing has been affected in a few districts of Odisha since Wednesday due to Cyclone Yaas and restoration work. That might have resulted in lower daily caseload in the state and districts, sources said.
Of the new cases in the capital, 182 are from quarantine and 689 local contacts.
Maximum cases have been reported from Patia (37), followed by Khandagiri (36), Old Town (35), Nayapalli (32), Jharpada (25), Laxmisagar and Sailashree Vihar (24 each), Unit-9 (21), Jayadev Vihar and Dumduma (20 each).
Meanwhile, another 1,073 patients recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours.
With this, Bhubaneswar now has 11,641 active cases.
