Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload in the capital city continued below-200 run for fourth consecutive day this week on Thursday as 168 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
The city reported 175 daily cases on Wednesday, 149 on Tuesday and 168 the previous day.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 43 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 125 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 9 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 7 from Niladri Vihar, 6 from Nayapalli and 5 each from Dumduma, Rasulgarh and VSS Nagar.
As many as 256 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deaths due to the COVID went up to 1,051 with two casualties reported during the period.
The active cases stood at 3,130 while total 1,17,934 people have been infected by the virus so far.
