Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city remained above 100 on Wednesday despite a fall from Tuesday figure. As many as 111 new cases were reported in the city in the last 24 hours.
The city had reported 152 new cases on Tuesday, 118 on Monday, 149 on Sunday and 157 on Saturday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 16 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 95 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 9 cases were reported from Niladri Vihar, followed by 6 from Forest Park, 5 from Rasulgarh and 4 each from Chakeisiani, Old Town and Patia.
As many as 166 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deceased due to COVID went up to 1,028 with one more death reported during the period.
The active cases stood at 3,372 while total 1,13,751 people have been infected by the virus so far.
