Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload continued its upward climb in the capital city since Sunday as 288 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.
While 258 new patients were registered in the city on Thursday, their number was 221 on Wednesday, 226 on Tuesday, 172 on Monday and 143 on Sunday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the total cases on the day, 90 were from quarantine and 198 local contacts.
As many as 171 more patients recovered from the disease in the city in the last 24 hours. The number of deceased due to COID has remained same at yesterday’s 1,009.
The active cases have gone up to 3,332 while total 1,09,078 people have been infected so far.
