Bhubaneswar: The rise of daily COVID caseload slowed down in capital city which reported 1502 new cases in 24 hours between 9 am of Thursday and that of Friday against 1498 cases in previous 24 hours.
As many as 1414 COVID positive cases were reported till 9 am of Wednesday, 1402 of Tuesday, 1360 of Monday and 1321 of Sunday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the total new cases, 1431 patients are local contacts while 71 are from quarantine.
Of the local contact cases, maximum 163 are from Khandagiri, followed by 137 from Patia, 117 from Nayapalli, 93 from Chandrasekharpur and 91 from Old Town.
Total 1240 persons recovered from the infection during the period taking the total number of recoveries to 1,28,644. The active cases have gone up to 10,938.
The number of fatalities has remained same at 1109 of yesterday. The total positive cases in the city so far have gone up to 1,40,712.
