Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city, which had dropped below 200 on Saturday, went up to 214 in the last 24 hours.
While 162 new patients were registered in the city on Saturday, their number was 288 on Friday, 258 on Thursday, 221 on Wednesday, 226 on Tuesday and 172 on Monday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), of the total cases on the day, 51 were from quarantine and 163 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 11 cases were reported from Mancheswar, followed by 9 each from Patia and Sailashree Vihar and 8 each from Khandagiri and Unit III.
As many as 163 more patients recovered from the disease in the city in the last 24 hours. The number of deceased due to COID has remained at 1,009.
The active cases have gone up to 3,428 while total 1,09,454 people have been infected so far.
