Bhubaneswar: Daily COVID caseload crossed 200 for the second consecutive day in Odisha on Thursday as 225 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 221 COVID cases on Wednesday, 156 cases on Tuesday, and 123 and 112 cases on Monday and Sunday respectively.
According to the I & PR department, 132 of the new infections are from quarantine and 93 local contacts. Among them, 37 are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda reported the highest of 87 new cases followed by Sambalpur (23), Sundargarh (13) and Balasore (12). Nine districts reported nil cases.

With these cases being detected from 62,192 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.36%.
While the affected tally has touched 10,54,606, Odisha now has 1,652 active cases.
