Bhubaneswar: A significant decline in daily COVID cases was reported on Monday after remaining above 200 for four consecutive days. The capital city logged 147 positive COVID cases in the last 24 hours.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 24 of the new infections are from quarantine and 123 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum of 13 cases have been reported from Old Town, followed by 8 cases from Niladri Vihar and 7 cases each from Chandrasekharpur and Nayapalli.
Bhubaneswar also saw another 200 patients recovering from the virus during the period. The number of deceased due to COVID is 1,014.
The active cases have gone up to 3,683 while total 1,11,036 people have been infected so far.
Last week the city had logged 218 cases on Sunday & Saturday, 267 new cases on Friday and 213 on Thursday.
