Daily COVID Caseload Dips Below 200 In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital witnessed a marginal fall in daily COVID-19 cases as 168 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

The city had reported 237 new cases on Sunday, 275 on Saturday, and 245 on Friday.

Among the new infections, 35 are from quarantine and 133 local contacts. Among the local contact cases, the highest of 8 cases each have been reported from Patia and Nayapalli, followed by 7 each from Jharpada and Old Town, and 6 each from Laxmi Sagar and Saheed Nagar, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

While 185 patients have recovered during the period, the number of deceased has gone up to 987 with seven more deaths being confirmed in the last 24 hours.

The city now has 3,408 active cases while the affected tally has touched 1,05,680, the BMC added.
