Daily COVID Caseload In Odisha Drops To 146; Khurda Only District With Fresh Infections In 2-Digit

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped further on Tuesday with 146 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against 186 and 193 on Monday and Sunday respectively.

According to the I & PR department, 86 of the new infections are from quarantine and 60 local contacts. Among them, 25 are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda at 72 was the only district to report cases in two-digit. Fourteen districts reported nil cases.

Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:

3. Bhadrak: 2
4. Balangir: 1
5. Cuttack: 14
6. Deogarh: 3
7. Dhenkanal: 1
8. Ganjam: 2
9. Jajpur: 3
10. Kendrapada: 3
11. Khurda: 72
12. Mayurbhanj: 1
13. Nayagarh: 3
14. Puri: 4
15. Sambalpur: 7
16. Sundargarh: 9

Besides, 16 are from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 52,434 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.27%.

While the affected tally had touched 10,53,166, Odisha now has 1,792 active cases.

The state also saw one COVID death. The Health Department identified the victim as a 71-year-old woman of Khurda district.
