Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID cases in the capital city further came down as 138 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours against 147 patients on Monday.
The city had registered more than 200 positive cases for four days before Monday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 40 of the new infections are from quarantine and 98 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum of 10 cases have been reported from Nayapalli, followed by 7 from Patrapada and 5 cases each from Baramunda and Patia.
Bhubaneswar also saw another 217 patients recovering from the virus during the period while the number of deceased due to COVID remained at 1,014.
The active cases have come down to 3,604 from Monday’s 3,683 while total 1,11,174 people have been infected so far.
Last week, the city had logged 218 new cases on Sunday and Saturday, 267 on Friday and 213 on Thursday.
