Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city further dropped on Saturday as 157 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
The city had registered 180 new patients on Friday, 240 on Thursday, 173 on Wednesday, 145 on Tuesday and 147 on Monday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 46 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 111 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 10 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 7 from Chandrasekharpur and 5 each from Jharpada, Mancheswar and Unit VI.
The city also saw 242 patients recovering from the virus during the period while the number of deceased due to COVID was 1,020 with two more deaths due to the disease reported during the period.
The active cases stood at 3,557 while total 1,13,221 people have been infected by the virus so far.
