Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 1000 on Monday, after a gap of five days, with 793 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The cases that had come down from 1,065 on July 16 to 816 on July 18 again soared to over 1,000 a day as the infections spread to more areas and covered all 30 districts.
According to the I & PR department, 432 of the new infection are from quarantine and 307 local contacts. Among them, 95 are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda district reported the highest of 138 fresh infections, followed by Sundargarh (114) and Sambalpur (113).
