Daily COVID Caseload On Downward Trend In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city further dropped on Monday as 145 new patients were reported in the last 24 hours. While 147 cases were registered on Monday, their number was 176 on Sunday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 35 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 110 local contacts.

Of the local contacts, maximum 16 cases were reported from Patrapada and by 8 each from Niladri Vihar and Chandrasekharpur.

The city also saw 184 patients recovering from the virus during the period while the number of deceased due to COVID went up to 1,016 with one more casualty reported during the period.

The active cases stood at 3,641 while total 1,12,471 people have been infected by the virus so far.

The city had reported 218 cases on Saturday, 207 on Friday and 218 on Thursday. The daily infections had remained below 200 for three days during the week as 186 cases were reported on Wednesday, 138 on Tuesday and 147 on Monday.
