Daily COVID Caseload Remains Above 200 For 2nd Day In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city remained above 200 for second consecutive day on Friday as 233 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

As many as 267 new patients were registered in the city on Thursday, 111 on Wednesday, 152 on Tuesday, 118 on Monday and 149 on Sunday.

According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 72 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 161 local contacts.

Of the local contacts, maximum 11 cases were reported from Patia, followed by 1o from Khandagiri, 9 from Pokhariput, 8 from Sailahsree Vihar and 7 from Nayapalli.

As many as 182 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deceased due to COVID remained at 1,028 with no more death reported during the period.

The active cases stood at 3,546 while total 1,14,251 people have been infected by the virus so far.
