Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload remained above 200 in the capital city for the fourth consecutive day as 218 persons tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours.
The city had logged 218 cases on Saturday, 267 new cases on Friday, 213 on Thursday, 182 on Wednesday, 163 on Tuesday and 174 on Monday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 57 of the new infections are from quarantine and 161 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum of 13 cases have been reported from Nayapalli, followed by 7 cases from Niladri Vihar and 6 cases each from Chakeisiani, Chandrasekharpur, Jaydev Vihar, Khandagiri, Patia, Pokhariput and Salashree Vihar.
Bhubaneswar also saw another 176 patients recovering from the disease during the period. The number of deceased due to COVID is 1,014.
The active cases have gone up to 3,736 while total 1,10,889 people have been infected so far.
