Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload in the capital city remained below 200 for the third consecutive day this week as 175 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
The daily cases had plummeted to 149 on Tuesday and 168 the previous day.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 49 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 126 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 10 cases were reported from Nayapalli, followed by 9 from Old Town, 8 from Saheed Nagar and 7 from Samantarapur.
As many as 255 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deaths due to the COVID remained at 1,049 with no casualty reported during the period.
The active cases stood at 3,220 while total 1,17,766 people have been infected by the virus so far.
