Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload in the capital city remained below 200 on Monday as 168 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
The city had reported 170 positive cases on Sunday, 184 cases on Saturday and 231 on Friday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 43 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 125 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 10 cases each were reported from Nayapalli and Old Town, followed by 7 cases from Rasulgarh, 6 each Patia, Pokhariput and Sundarpada and 5 each Jaydev Vihar.
As many as 254 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deaths due to COVID went up to 1,048.
The active cases stood at 3,409 while total 1,17,442 people have been infected by the virus so far.
