Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in the capital city continued its downward trend for third day on Sunday as 149 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
The city had registered 157 cases on Saturday, 180 on Friday, 240 on Thursday, 173 on Wednesday, 145 on Tuesday and 147 on Monday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 40 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 109 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 10 cases were reported from Old Town, followed by 9 from Patia, 7 from Nayapalli, and 5 each from Chandrasekharpur, Khandagiri and Sailashree Vihar.
As many as 292 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deceased due to COVID went up to 1,022 with two more deaths reported during the period.
The active cases stood at 3,512 while total 1,13,370 people have been infected by the virus so far.
