Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID cases, which had remained below 200 for the last two days in Odisha capital, went past the figure on Wednesday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), as many as 202 persons tested positive for COVID in the city. All of them were local contact cases, while 148 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.
Of the total cases, maximum 26 were reported from Patia, followed by 19 from Khandagiri and 11 each from Chandrasekharpur, Patrapada and Nayapalli.
While the active cases in the city have gone up to 1,416, the deceased cases remained at 1,193 with no more casualty reported during the period.
The total infected cases have reached 1,62,621 even as 1,59,991 patients have recovered from COVID so far, the BMC stated in a tweet.
