Bhubaneswar: After a gap of several days, daily COVID cases in Odisha increased to above 300 on Wednesday.
As many as 328 COVID positive cases were registered in the last 24 hours against 231 cases on Tuesday and 179 on Monday.
According to the I & PR department, 192 new cases are from quarantine and 136 local contacts. Among them, 74 are in the age group of 0-18 years.

Besides, 12 are from the state pool.
The active tally in the state continued to remain below the 2,000 mark at 1,616. With these cases being detected from 15,149 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) also increased and stood at 2.16%.
The state has confirmed one more death due to COVID after the audit process in last 24 hours, taking the toll in the fourth wave to 48.
The Health Department on Wednesday identified the deceased as a 72-year-old male of Cuttack district.
