Daily COVID Cases Drop To Single Digit In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw an almost 74 per cent drop in daily COVID caseload on Sunday with six more positives in the last 24 hours against 23 on Saturday, and 15 on Friday.

According to the I & PR department, four of these new cases are from quarantine and two local contacts. There are no minors among them belonging to the 0-18 years age group.

Here is the district-wise tally of new cases:

1. Balasore: 1
2. Khurda: 1
3. Koraput: 1
4. Nayagarh: 1
5. Puri: 1
6. Sambalpur: 1

With these cases being detected from 8,299 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.07%. With 31 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 164 active cases.

It is pertinent to mention here that six districts – Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Ganjam Rayagada, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri – are reportedly COVID-free with nil active cases, as per the state COVID dashboard.
