Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload in the capital city remained plummeted further with 149 new positive cases were reported in the last 24 hours against 168 the previous day.
The city had reported 170 positive cases on Sunday, 184 cases on Saturday and 231 on Friday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 39 of the new patients on the day are from quarantine and 110 local contacts.
Of the local contacts, maximum 8 cases each were reported from Nayapalli, followed by 7 from Madhusudan Nagar and 5 each Baramunda, Laxmi Sagar, Saheed Nagar and Unit 6.
As many as 257 patients recovered from the disease while the number of deaths due to COVID went up to 1,049.
The active cases stood at 3,300 while total 1,17,591 people have been infected by the virus so far.
