Daily COVID Cases Make Huge Jump After 3-Day Fall In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The new COVID cases in the capital city, which were on a downslide for the last three consecutive days, made a huge jump on Thursday when 353 persons tested positive for coronavirus.

The city had reported 182 positive cases on Wednesday, 233 on Tuesday and 286 on Monday.

Of the new cases registered in the last 24 hours, 79 were from quarantine and 274 local contacts, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Of the local contact cases, maximum 26 were reported from Khandagiri, followed by 19 from Patia, 16 from Old Town and 13 from Chandrasekharpur.

As many as 253 patients recovered from the disease during the period while the number of deceased went up to 793. The city now has 2158 active cases.
