Bhubaneswar: The capital city registered less than 200 COVID-19 cases for second day on Tuesday as 197 persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The city had reported 168 new cases on Monday, 237 on Sunday, 275 on Saturday, and 245 on Friday.
Among the fresh cases, 47 are from quarantine and 150 local contacts. Among the local contact cases, 10 cases each were reported from Chandrasekharpur and Old Town, and 9 each from Khandagiri and Patia, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
While 206 patients have recovered during the period, the number of deceased remains constant at 987 with no deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
The city now has 3,399 active cases while the affected tally has touched 1,05,877, the BMC added.
