Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload soared past 200 on Friday with 204 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, which took the active tally to 872.
The spike has been reported amid a huge congregation of devotees at Puri for the annual Rath Yatra.
According to the I & PR department, 119 of the cases are from quarantine and 85 local contacts. Among them, 18 are in the age group of 0-18 years. The highest of 86 cases have been reported from Khurda, followed by 38 from Cuttack and 18 from Sundargarh.

Besides, 22 from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 15,615 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 1.3 per cent.
