Srinagar: Three persons were charred to death when a massive fire broke out in a houseboat on the picturesque Dal Lake here on Saturday.
The bodies were recovered several hours later after the early fire, which spread quickly and reduced several houseboats to ashes, was brought under control.
The deceased tourists, from Bangladesh, were staying at the Safeena houseboat which was completely destroyed, reported NDTV.
According to police, the fire broke out at a houseboat anchored near Ghat No. 9 of Dal Lake. Soon, the fire spread and engulfed other houseboats.
