Bhubaneswar: Sambit Routray, the newly elected BJD MLA of Paradeep and the son of veteran leader Damodar Rout, on Friday said his father can make a comeback to the ruling party if the party supremo wishes.
“My father is not a man of disposable personality. I have a personal feeling that he is not happy after joining BJP,” Sambit told media persons here.
Asked about the possibility of his father on making a comeback to BJD, he said nothing was impossible in politics. “My party supremo will take a call on this matter. If he wishes, then my father will return to BJD,” he said.
Explaining the reason for the defeat of his father in the recent Assembly election, Sambit said though Damodar had begun his career as a member of the erstwhile Janata Dal, the people did not accept his decision to join BJP.
