Mangaluru: ‘ABCD’ fame dancer and actor Kishore Shetty was arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for selling banned drugs in the city.
According to an Indian Express report, Kishore, along with a person named Akeel Naushil, was trying to sell MDMA (methylene dioxy methamphetamine), also known as Ecstasy, near Kadri area when the CCB team nabbed him.
“The accused used to source the drugs from Mumbai and sell it to the public and students here in Mangaluru. Hence we are investigating his connection with the drug racket in Mumbai too. We have received information that he was organizing parties in Mangaluru and we will investigate all angles,” Mangaluru city police commissioner Vikash Kumar was quoted as saying.
MDMA worth Rs 1 lakh, a bike and 2 mobile phones were seized from the accused.
The 30-year old Kishore, a resident of Kulai in Mangaluru, had bagged the ‘Dance Ke Superstar’ title on ZEE TV’s popular dance reality show ‘Dance India Dance.’
The 28-year old Akeel Naushil, a resident of Surathkal, had returned to Mangaluru from abroad last year.
