Jalandhar: Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh was left devastated after his nephew Vidit Auluck died in a car crash in Jalandhar.

Vidit and his friend Aarav Talwar died on the spot after the Volkswagen car they were travelling in rammed into a Municipal Corporation tractor-trolley on a flyover near Jalandhar’s Police Lines area in the early hours of Sunday.

There were three others in the car who escaped any serious injury, according to a Mid-Day report.

Confirming the heartbreaking news, Honey Singh shared a heartbreaking note on his Instagram Stories.

“It’s a dark decade for me. Loss of my nephew Is Devastating. Bhole nath mehr Mehr Mehr @dineshauluck,” lamented Honey.

Vidit was the son of Dinesh, who owns Punjabi music label Speed Records. The second victim Aarav was the son of the owner of Pappy Sweets.

While the 43-year-old Honey’s message reflected the immediate shock of losing his nephew, it also touched a raw nerve in the context of the musician’s past.

Honey, who is also a music producer and actor, battled bipolar disorder, psychotic symptoms and substance abuse over the last decade, and frequently spoke about his personal “dark phase”, when he completely went off the showbiz scene.

Having spent several years in isolation, trying to recover from mental health struggles, this sudden family tragedy is yet another deeply sorrowful event in a challenging decade for the artist.
