Darshan Of Lords In Jagannath Temple From Today

Puri: With the sibling deities back in the sanctum sanctorum of the Jagannath Temple on Wednesday night, the devotees can now have darshan inside the temple premises from Thursday.

The Pahandi (procession) rituals, which were scheduled on 6.30 pm, began 90 minutes earlier on Wednesday afternoon. The procession of Ramakrushna-Madanmohan began at 5.10 pm followed by Lord Sudarshan at 5.35 pm, Lord Balabhadra at 6.05 pm, Devi Subhadra at 7.40 pm and Lord Jagannath at 8 pm.

This year, the rituals were performed much ahead of the schedule.

While pulling of the chariots on Rath Yatra started at 2.35 pm, scheduled earlier at 4 pm, the three chariots reached the Simhadwara of the Jagannath Temple before the sunset on the Bahuda Yatra.

As informed by Laxmidhar Panda, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the devotees will have the Abhada (food cooked for the Lords) at the Anand Bazaar from Thursday.
