Dasburma’s Aide Murder: Odisha CB Subjects Accused To Lie-Detector Test

Puri: The Odisha Police Crime Branch, which is probing the mysterious death of Chittaranjan Palai, on Monday subjected three accused to lie-detector test here.

Palai was a close aide of Deputy Chairperson of Odisha Planning Board and senior BJD leader Sanjay Dasburma.

Investigators are also probing whether Palai died by drowning. On Monday morning, the Puri CDMO said that Palai’s post-mortem report has been sent to the state forensic lab to confirm the reason of death and whether drowning was before or after death.

Three accused — Jagannath Sarangi alias Jaga, his associate and a woman — were brought to the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Rasulgarh here, where they were subjected to lie-detector test.

In a complaint to Puri SP, Palai’s uncle has alleged that he had gone to have a feast with Jaga on December 11 and did not return home thereafter.

The woman is from Chakrapara. She was also earlier questioned by the Crime Branch.
