Bhubaneswar: The by-election to Jharsuguda assembly constituency in Odisha will be held on May 10 while votes will be counted three days later on May 13, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced on Wednesday.
The seat fell vacant following the untimely death of Jharsuguda MLA and Health Minister Naba Kishore Das, who was shot dead by an assistant sub inspector of police in western Odisha town of Brajarajnagar on January 29.
Notably, Naba Das’ Deepali Das (BJD) has already intensified her public interactions. and so has Tankadhar Tripathy of BJP. The two newcomers may cross swords in the Assembly soon.
