Bhubaneswar: The by-election to Pipili Assembly constituency will be held on April 17, said the Election Commission of India on Tuesday.
According to the schedule announced by the ECI, the gazette notification will be published on March 23 and nominations will be filed from March 23 to 30. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is April 3.
May 2 is the date for the counting of votes and the announcement of results.
The by-election to Pipili constituency was necessitated after the death of the sitting BJD MLA and former minister Pradeep Maharathy on October 4 last year.
