Bhubaneswar: In a major development in the DAV School of Business
Management (DSBM) girl student Tanya Banerjee death case, her post
mortem report received by twin cities Commissionerate Police on
Tuesday revealed that she died of suffocation.
“The girl died of suffocation after hanging herself. However, the
victim’s family had alleged that the incident was a well-planned
murder as she was complaining of harassment by hostel inmates”,
Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrat Bhoi informed.
Basing on the complaint lodged by the girl’s family members, a case
was registered under Section 306 of IPC and statements of ten girl
students, superintendent, warden and security guard of the college
were recorded by police.
The girl was found hanging in her hostel room in DSBM on on November 28.
