Dhenkanal/Bhubaneswar: Normal life in Kamakhyanagar of Dhenkanal district was affected due to a dawn-to-dusk shutdown called by Kamakhyanagar Notified Area Council (NAC) councilors on Tuesday. The bandh was observed demanding immediate repair of National Highway 53.
Most of the educational institutions and business establishments remained shut, while public and private vehicles stayed off the roads. Road transport was disrupted as the protestors staged road blockades by burning tyres at several places.
“On March 25, we observed a 12-hour protest over the same issue. But the district administration has failed to pay heed to our long-standing demands,” one of the protestors said.
