Tokyo: A day after his golden moment at the Tokyo Olympics, Neeraj Chopra was on Sunday “still processing” that winning feeling.
“Still processing this feeling. To all of India and beyond, thank you so much for your support and blessings that have helped me reach this stage. This moment will live with me forever,” Neeraj posted on Twitter along with podium pictures.
Neeraj ended India’s 121-year wait for an athletics medal by winning the men’s javelin gold with a throw of 87.58 metres to become only the second sportsperson from his country — after shooter Abhinav Bindra — to claim an individual Olympic gold.
It marked a glorious end to India’s campaign at Tokyo, where they bagged the maximum number of medals (7) in a single Games.
