Mumbai: Ever since the leading Opposition parties announced their resolve to fight the BJP unitedly in next year’s Lok Sabha elections, the saffron party has proactively hit out at the INDIA bloc.
A day ahead of the Opposition alliance meets for the third time – this time in Mumbai – BJP shared a poster on X showing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the ‘Terminator’.
“Opposition thinks PM Modi can be defeated. Dream on! The Terminator always wins,” BJP wrote along with the poster, equating the Prime Minister to the iconic character portrayed by Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Modi himself has expressed confidence about winning a third term, declaring from the Red Fort on Independence Day that he would present achievements of his government on August 15 next year.
“The next five years are for unprecedented development. The biggest golden moment to realise the dream of 2047 is the next five years. The next time, on August 15, I will present before you the achievements and developments of the country from this Red Fort,” Modi had said.
The Opposition parties, on the other hand, believe that the INDIA bloc can topple the Modi government next year.
Over the next two days, INDIA bloc leaders are scheduled to meet at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai to take forward their deliberations from the Patna and Bengaluru conclaves.
“63 representatives from 28 political parties will participate in INDIA coalition meeting in Mumbai,” Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar said on Wednesday.
A logo is likely to be unveiled, and several important issues like seat-sharing formula are expected to be discussed at the Mumbai meeting.
