Bhubaneswar: Boudh continued to be the hottest place in Odisha on Wednesday at 38 degree Celsius followed by Nayagarh and Malkangiri at 37 degree Celsius each.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state is likely to witness a gradual rise in the day temperature by 3-4 degree Celsius during the next four to five days.
“The maximum temperature at many places is very likely to rise gradually by 3-4 degree Celsius during the next four/five days,” head of IMD regional centre here HR Biswas said, adding that dry weather is expected across Odisha till March 6.
While Bhubaneswar recorded 36.6 degree Celsius during the day, the mercury is likely to shoot up to 39 degree Celsius in the next six days, the MeT office added.
The rise in temperature, which is quite normal during this time of the year, is being attributed to clear sky and lack of rainfall activities.
