Bhubaneswar: With the withdrawal of south-west monsoon, hot and humid conditions have returned to Odisha.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the day temperature is likely to remain 2- 3°C above normal at a few places in the state during the next 3 days. The regional office has forecast dry weather in the state till October 19 and little change in the weather condition thereafter.
The monsoon had set in over parts of Odisha on June 22 this year.
On Friday, Chanbali in Balasore had recorded the highest of 36.7°C followed by Keonjhar at 36.4°C. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 35°C and 34.2°C respectively. “Maximum temperature was appreciably above normal at a few places in coastal districts and at one or two places in Interior Odisha,” it said.
Between October 1 and October 14, Odisha received 8% more rainfall than the usual 73.2 mm, the weather agency posted on X.
