Bhubaneswar: In a sigh of relief for the people of Odisha, day temperatures are likely to drop across the state in the next 24 hours, informed the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Under the impact of a possible low pressure area, the southern districts along with Balasore and Mayurbhanj are likely to receive spells of rain on August 5, the Met centre added.
Cloudy skies have also been predicted over Bhubaneswar.
Adding to it, almost all the districts will experience rainfall on August 6.
Earlier on Monday, R K Jenamani, senior scientist (IMD), predicted that major rainfall activity is unlikely to be witnessed in the state till this weekend.
It is pertinent to mention here that the seasonal cumulative rainfall realised between June 1 and August 2 is 516.3 mm against its normal value of 572.6 mm. During the period two districts have received excess rainfall, while seven districts are in deficient and the rest 21 in normal category.
