Days After SC Guidelines On Demolitions, Yogi Adityanath Fires ‘Bulldozer’ Warning In Jharkhand

Ranchi: Five days after the Supreme Court laid down nationwide guidelines against arbitrary demolitions by authorities, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath fired a ‘bulldozer’ warning in Jharkhand on Monday.

During an election rally in Jamtara, ahead of second phase of polling for Jharkhand Assembly, Yogi accused the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition of “looting” the state.

“They have looted Jharkhand’s natural resources and the funds sent by (Prime Minister) Modi. They have encouraged infiltration by Bangladeshi migrants and Rohingyas, posing a serious threat to ‘beti, mati, roti’ (girls, land and food). Now, the bulldozer is on standby to reclaim the looted funds,” the BJP leader said, according to PTI.

Yogi is considered to be the pioneer of bulldozer action in UP, which has been adopted by some other state governments also, despite strong criticism by Opposition parties and civil society.

The UP chief minister also said that there was “rampant” extraction of Jharkhand’s natural resources, practice which he claimed was “flourishing” under the ruling alliance, leaving the state “hollowed out” by “mafia activities.”

Yogi went on to accuse the JMM-led government of supporting “infiltrators” involved in “land jihad” and “love jihad.” He warned such forces wouldn’t be spared that if the BJP-led NDA wins the Jharkhand assembly polls on November 23.
