Agra: BJP leader Mahesh Baghel was believed to be dead as he as he showed no signs of life.
And then, the former district head regained consciousness.
Baghel’s brother said doctors at a local hospital, where he was admitted, had advised family members to take him home as not much could be done to revive him.
His family followed doctors’ instructions thinking that they had lost Baghel.
As they were preparing for his last rites, Baghel showed some movements.
“Family members were preparing for last rites but some movement was seen in his body and he was admitted to another hospital,” his brother said, adding that Baghel’s condition is serious.
Baghel was admitted to a local hospital with a chest infection. During treatment, his condition deteriorated.
Once news spread that Baghel was alive, a number of local BJP leaders visited the hospital where he was shifted to and prayed for his good health.
Cases of humans getting back consciousness after being believed to have breathed their last are attributed to the ‘Lazarus effect’ or autoresuscitation.
