Bhubaneswar: The body of a three-year-old girl was found in a field at Khalikhama area under Mancheswar police limits in Odisha capital on Tuesday.
According to sources, some locals spotted the body of the child and informed the police.
On being informed, the police reached the spot and sent the body to a nearby hospital for postmortem. The body had blood marks on the mouth and neck.
Police have started investigation into the matter. The exact reason behind the death of the minor girl is yet to be ascertained.
