Bhubaneswar: The transfer of a policeman, who had died last year, has come as an embarrassment for Odisha police.
The name of Subedar Kampal Naik, who was posted at the 7th SIR Battalion at Koraput, figured in the list of 12 personnel who were given new postings in the state. He was transferred to the 5th Battalion, Baripada.
The transfer order was issued by state police headquarters.
The order was, however, promptly cancelled with a senior police officer describing it as ‘typo’. “We have issued a corrigendum order after the blunder came to our notice,” the officer added.
